Unravel Two includes prominent features such as Beautiful Environment, Side-scroll Gameplay, Challenging Levels, and more. The player can explore the world from a side-scroll perspective, run, jump, and solve tricky puzzles in his way to reach the end of each level. The game provides the player with a compelling storyline, taking place on an island contains a set of levels with increasing difficulty. Two Yarns can be controlled with either two or one players, which must work together to solve the challenging puzzles and explore the beautiful hand-crafted world. Unlike the previous title, the game offers both Single-player and Multiplayer options, through local co-op only. The storyline of the game revolves around two Yarns, small anthropomorphic creatures. The game is the sequel to Unravel, released in 2016 and it comes with improved graphics and controls.
If you like your mentally challenging puzzle games it’s a real must and those up for some great co-op play will definitely get something out of Unravel 2.Unravel Two developed by Coldwood Interactive and published by Electronic Arts, is a Puzzle-Platform, and Single-player video game for Multiple Platforms. Some of the puzzles can get a bit samey, I noticed several times having to do that same trick to get both Yarnys over a particularly high chair or ledge, for example.īut the game is varied enough and addictive enough that you’ll want to keep coming back for more, trying to overcome obstacles that are increasingly awkward to beat. Two-player co-op play is where its really at in this game though and I loved working through puzzles and platform elements alongside a pal, working together to move on to the next stage. Gameplay is effortless and even in single player mode you’ll find yourself seamlessly switching between your two characters to conquer levels and difficult challenges. It’s up there with Little Nightmares in its visual style, a very good thing. The graphics are sublime, giving a real sense of a giant world of city streets, cosy homes and dangerous riverways with your well-animated characters standing out at all times to the player as they work their way past awkward roadblocks and litter blockages to the end of each level. This game doesn’t quite have the same depth in story to it as the first.īut it does well to keep you intrigued as you get glimpses of two ghostly children in the real world working together to escape danger on the same path as you. It’s all very intuitive and the game does a great job at easing you in whether you’re an Unravel veteran or a total newcomer to the franchise. So you’ll find yourself using blue Yarny to dangle red Yarny off a ledge, allowing the latter to build up momentum to swing to a safety platform that a single creature couldn’t make on his own.
The makers at Electronic Arts have been brilliant in designing ever-tougher puzzles for the player to work out to ensure progress to the end.
You can join the pair up as one creature with the press of a button when tackling easier parts of each level.īut it’s often when the two critters are separated, joined only at the legs by a strand of wool, limiting their movement, that this game comes into its own. Red and blue in colour, they work together to traverse the human world after a storm rocks their boat and washes them ashore. This time we get two Yarnys to play with.
